Bridwell, Mortimer and Blaisdel bring Inferior Five to an end with issue 10 (Sept/Oct 68).
The story is once again a blend of comedic adventure, with a touch of satire, as it brings back the Kookie Quartet, Nabob and Cobweb Kid. Superman also plays a role in the tale, which deals with an alien invasion, but he is out in space when the alert goes out.
Merryman, White Feather, Dumb Bunny, Blimp and Awkwardman are perfectly content to join forces with the Marvel-based heroes against the aliens, who are clearly based on the Skrulls.
The Inferior Five prove as much of a hindrance as a help to the other heroes, and the aliens are able to mentally command the various heroes to stop fighting against them.
Superman swoops in to save the day, rounding up the alien invaders and getting rid of them.
As the final issue comes to an end, the various Marvel-based heroes are lurking in an alley, ready to exact goofy vengeance against the Inferior Five.
The Inferior Five are next seen in Showcase 100, in 1978. There were two more issues of this book, 11 and 12, that were released in 1972, but these consisted of reprints of their first two Showcase stories.
