Limited Collectors' Edition C-52 (1977) was the first of many DC reprint collections to use the name Best of DC. This issue contains six stories. I agree with many of the selections. For Superman, they reprint The Last Days of Superman, from the 60s. Batman is represented by Night of the Reaper, from the 70s. A Firehair story from the late 60s represents westerns. A war story from 70s Our Army at War, which turns out to be about Jesus, represents that genre. One of my favourite House of Mystery tales, The Demon Within, is the selected horror tale. The only one I really disagree with is the other selection, the Flash tale Doorway to the Unknown. I have never found that story impressive, simply because it has a supernatural quality that is not common in the Flash.
