After that less than helpful origin story, things just descend into complete mystification, at least for me, with Thriller 3 (Jan 84).
Fleming and Von Eeden bring back Scabbard in this one, and he is out to kill the president some more. Or still.
There is a priest guy who looks human, but is really a robot. Thriller is able to take over any inorganic form, so she uses the robot priest as a body at times.
Daniel Grove is at the centre of this one. He needs to save his mother, who is on board a train that Scabbard is going to destroy, and we also have flashbacks to the death of his father, who was killed when driving back into a war zone. As with the flashbacks in the previous issue, they are not confined to people in the past, and Daniel is able to enter them and find out why his father died. It's weirdly stupid. His father could have driven to safety, but saw a sign telling him to turn back. His father always followed the rules, so he drove back and was killed.
Yeah, ok, I don't even know why I am reading this. Well, I do. For the blog. Otherwise, I would have tossed it and moved on.
